Jinyuan Ancestral Hall

Jinyuan Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Jinyuan Ancestral Hall is located in Dongdun Village, Baiyang Township, Xiapu County, and dates back to the Ming Dynasty.

Description: Built in the 14th year of the Jiajing reign during the Ming Dynasty (1535), it faces south and consists of a mountain gate and a main hall, covering an area of 62 square meters. The main hall is three bays wide and three bays deep, featuring a post-and-lintel and Dougong (bracket) style timber frame, with a hip-and-gable roof. Its caisson ceiling is adorned with bracket sets. The ancestral hall is one of the more intact Ming Dynasty clan ancestral halls in eastern Fujian that has a verifiable date and documented historical records.

In 2013, Jinyuan Ancestral Hall was designated as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Protected area: 20 meters outward from the perimeter of the ancestral hall.
