Zhima Town

Zhima Town in Guangze County is the western gateway of Guangze connecting to inland areas. Located over twenty kilometers from the county seat and adjacent to Lichuan County in Jiangxi Province, it has historically been a hub for economic and cultural exchanges between Sichuan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Guangdong, and Fujian. In 2010, Zhima was included in the city’s pilot program for small town construction, becoming the only town in Guangze County selected for the comprehensive reform and construction pilot of small towns at the municipal level. Over the past few years, this border town between provinces has undergone a remarkable transformation. Its landscape of blue-roofed, white-walled buildings, neat and spacious streets, and increasingly complete infrastructure all reflect its vibrant renewal. Recently, the town was designated as a National Key Town by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and six other ministries, marking yet another “national-level” recognition following its title as a National Ecological Town.
