Era: Ming to Qing Dynasties

Location: Chongren Village, Chongren Township, Guangze County

Introduction: Constructed in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The residence spans 1,512 square meters, featuring a main gate with an eight-character layout, a hybrid raised-beam and post-and-lintel structure, five bays and five sections. A small front courtyard opens onto a screen wall decorated with elaborate brick carvings of dragons, phoenixes, as well as images of pine, crane, bamboo, and vases. The wooden elements are richly carved with diverse motifs.

The associated Qiu Family Ancestral Hall, built in the 11th year of the Yongzheng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1733), covers an area of 340 square meters. It is constructed with brick and stone, featuring four pillars and three bays, with an eight-character, memorial archway-style gate. The hall has three sections, with a screen door at the entrance hall and a caisson ceiling as its roof decoration.

Protected Area: A protection zone extends 60 meters outward from the surrounding firewalls of both the Qiu Family Ancestral Hall and the Qiu Family Old Residence.

In 2009, the Qiu Family Residence in Chongren was designated as part of the seventh batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Heritage Sites by the Fujian Provincial People's Government.

Chongren Village: Chongren Village is located in the northern part of Guangze County and serves as the seat of the Chongren Township government. The Chengsi Highway runs through the village, which lies 7 kilometers from the county seat. It borders Gongqing Village to the east, Yangtang Village to the north, Jinling Village to the west, and Xianhuazhou to the south. The village covers an area of 24.6 square kilometers and comprises 3 natural villages and 8 villager groups, with 515 households and a population of 1,593. Within the village are county-level cultural heritage sites — the Chongren Ming-Qing Ancient Street and a pre-Shang-Zhou historical site that face each other.
