Zhenjiang Prefecture is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Era: Qing Dynasty

Location: Shantou Village, Zhaili Town, Guangze County

Description: Also known as Taishi Mansion, it was built in the 17th year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1837). The complex consists of a courtyard, main gate, outer hall, main hall, upper hall, and enclosing walls, covering an area of 1,690 square meters. The main hall is five bays wide and eight bays deep, featuring a post-and-lintel timber frame. A plaque inscribed with “Taishi Mansion” hangs above the main gate, and one inscribed with “Golden Hall Imperial Examination Success” is mounted on the side.

Associated cultural relic: the Gong Family Ancestral Hall, which consists of a courtyard, stage, corridor building, main hall, rear hall, and shrine. It was built in the 12th year of the Jiaqing reign during the Qing Dynasty (1807). The structure has a flush-gable roof and is enclosed by fireproof brick walls forming a quadrangle courtyard. The stage in front of the main hall’s courtyard and the passage between the two courtyards of the rear hall both feature caisson ceilings, and the rear hall houses a shrine.

Protected area: Zhenjiang Prefecture — east to the residence of Gong Meihé, west to the residence of Gong Meiyán, south to the residence of Gong Qǐshēng, north to the Shantou–Xinfeng Highway;

Gong Family Ancestral Hall — 50 meters outside the fireproof walls on all four sides of the building.

In 2009, Zhenjiang Prefecture was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.
