Longshan Ancient Pagoda

Longshan Ancient Pagoda is a cultural tourism attraction.

Longshan Pagoda is located atop Donglong Mountain in Shuangxi Town. According to the Republican-era edition of the *Shunchang County Annals*, the pagoda was constructed in the 11th year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1672) under the supervision of He Chunzi and completed the following year. This seven-story solid pagoda is built with meticulously cut long stone slabs and square stones laid in staggered courses. The base has a diameter of 5.87 meters and the total height is 16.26 meters. The body of the pagoda is octagonal, with the first story set at a relatively wide interval. The pagoda tapers upward into a pyramidal shape, and its finial is in the form of a gourd. The seventh level of the pagoda body is inscribed with eight characters: “Guang Fo Hua Yan Zun Jing Da Fang.” Longshan Pagoda is one of the better-preserved Qing Dynasty dense-eave-style ancient pagodas in the county. On December 16, 1983, it was listed as part of the first group of key cultural relics protection units at the county level.
