Shunchang Zhangdun Rural Leisure Tourism Scenic Area
Shunchang Zhangdun Rural Leisure Tourism Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.
Located 18 kilometers northwest of Shunchang and 20 kilometers southeast of Baoshan, at the foot of the provincial-level Honggu Mountain Forest Park on the right bank of the Futun River, lies Pusang Town—one of the “Top Ten Townships in Northern Fujian.” Covering an area of 207 square kilometers, it governs 12 administrative villages with a population of 24,000; it is known as the “Granary of Shunchang” and the “Hometown of Citrus.” It also has nearly 100 enterprises of various kinds, making it one of Fujian Province’s “Top 100 Townships for Township Enterprises.” The area is rich in minerals and enjoys convenient transportation, with bustling commerce dating back to ancient times.
The construction of the “Beautiful Countryside” of Zhangdun is a key highlight of this nationally recognized “Township with Beautiful Ecology.” Like a golden thread, it connects two “pearls”—the “Shoreline Corridor” Chengguan and “Great Sage’s Ancestral Mountain” Baoshan—attracting more and more visitors to experience the joy of rural fruit picking and leisure.
Zhangdun Village is located in the northern part of Shunchang County, 7 kilometers from the Shunchao Expressway and 14 kilometers from the county town. Adjacent to National Highway 316 and backed by Baoshan—the “Ancestral Land of the Great Sage”—in Shunchang, it is also traversed by the Futun River, one of the three major tributaries of the Min River.
The village has over 210 households and more than 830 residents, including 86 households specializing in grape cultivation and winemaking. It produces and sells over 150 tons of “Zhangdun” wine annually, and has built the county’s largest grape planting base. Among them, the Domas Winery holds the only wine production license in the province. The village is also a national pilot site for the “Beautiful Countryside” initiative.
Guided by the goal of “prosperous people and beautiful ecology,” in recent years the village has established the Zhangdun Tourism Development Co., Ltd. with the village party branch at its core and supported by the village committee. It organizes, coordinates, services, and supervises the village’s grape industry cooperative, Jinxiang Grain Cooperative, and farmhouse association to jointly promote “Beautiful Zhangdun” and actively establish a four-star “Beautiful Countryside” tourism scenic area. Through the “Beautiful Countryside” development, today’s Zhangdun features pristine mountains and waters, lush fields, serene villages, and charming wineries—forming the idyllic “Beautiful Zhangdun.”
