Yangkou Town: Situated along the middle reaches of the Futun River, the town was originally called Shangyang. It lies at 117°54′ east longitude and 26°47′ north latitude, approximately 15 kilometers from Shunchang County. It borders Xiayang Town of Yanping District and Gaoqiao Township of Sha County to the southeast, Shuinan Town to the west, Zhengfang Township to the southwest, Pushang Town to the north, and Jianxi Town to the northeast. Historical records show that its administrative establishment first appeared during the Ming Dynasty under the governance of Gaoyang Li in the Ouning region. By the late Qing Dynasty, it was set up as a subprefecture directly under the jurisdiction of Yanping Prefecture. In the early Republican period, it became a subsidiary district of Jian’ou County, and in the 18th year of the Republic (1929), it was reorganized as the Eighth District of Jian’ou County.
