The scenic area is centered around the Huashanxi River basin of the Jiulong River, extending outward to include the former residence of Lin Yutang, the Lin Yutang Literature Museum, scenic flood control embankments on both sides of the town, waterfront parks, riverside wooden boardwalks, Heluo Wharf, the cultural core area of the Lin Yutang Cultural Expo Park, Sānrì Bridge (a leisure and sightseeing pedestrian bridge), Zhènxīn Bridge, a Minnan culture street, and Tiandì Wénquán, among others.

The Lin Yutang Riverside Water Conservancy Scenic Area in Pinghe County is located in Bansai Town, Pinghe County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. It is an urban river-lake type water conservancy scenic area that is open to the public and does not charge an entrance fee. Bansai Town is 14 kilometers from the county seat of Pinghe, 62 kilometers from Zhangzhou, and 112 kilometers from Xiamen. The planned total area is 1,281 mu, including 238 mu of land area and 1,043 mu of water area. Centered around the Huashanxi River basin of the Jiulong River, it extends outward to include the former residence of Lin Yutang, the Lin Yutang Literature Museum, scenic flood control embankments on both sides of the town, waterfront parks, riverside wooden boardwalks, Heluo Wharf, the cultural core area of the Lin Yutang Cultural Expo Park, Sānrì Bridge (a leisure and sightseeing pedestrian bridge), Zhènxīn Bridge, a Minnan culture street, and Tiandì Wénquán, among others.

By fully protecting and recreating Lin Yutang’s living environment of his time, the town integrates various historical, cultural, and ecological resources across the town area, the cultural park, and Pinghe County. It is vigorously developing “creative tourism” with the goal of constructing an open, world-influential literary town that highlights Lin Yutang’s culture, blends history with modernity, and harmonizes preservation with development.
