Caijiabao is located in Longqing Village, Shange Town, Pinghe County. Historical records indicate that it was built in 1238. Viewed from above, the ancient fortress resembles the English letter “U.” Surrounded by water on all sides, it faces west and sits higher in the east while sloping downward toward the west, with an opening on the western side. The structure has the shape of a “dung basket.” The total length of the fortress walls is about 750 meters, and inside there are more than 100 houses, most of which have two to three floors. It is known as the “fortress of commoners.” On the fifth day of the first lunar month every year, the centuries-old folk cultural event “Two Lion Pairs Walking on Water with the God Effigy” is held at Caijiabao.

[Village and Residents] Longqing Village currently has a population of 3,178, comprising 773 households, across 4 natural villages and 15 villager groups. There are 106 Party members, and the village encompasses 2,136 mu of arable land.

[History and Culture] Longqing Village is home to the ancestral hall of the Cai family, named “Zhuiyuan Hall.” The ancestral hall was first established by the third-generation ancestor Junming Gong in 1358 AD and renovated in 1796 AD under the planning of geomancer Mr. Cai Ren.
