Benben Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Era: Qing Dynasty

Location: Husi Village, Daxi Town, Pinghe County

Introduction: Also known as the Ancestral Temple of Wu Feng, it faces northeast and is situated southwest. Initially built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1736–1795), it has undergone multiple restorations in the Republican era and more recent times. It is a two-courtyard building with hanging gables and swallowtail ridges, featuring exquisitely carved beams and painted rafters, with highly refined wood and stone carvings. The ancestral hall enshrines the spirit tablets of Wu Wenying, the founding ancestor of the Wu clan of Husi, and his forty descendants over five generations, while the side chambers of the main hall house the tablet of Wu Feng, the 13th-generation descendant revered as the “God of Alishan.”

Protected area: 30 meters extending outward from all sides of the ancestral hall.

In 2009, Benben Hall was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Husi Village: Located to the south of Daxi Town, Husi Village has a total population of 2,105, comprising 2 natural villages and 9 production groups; it has 45 village representatives and 50 Party members. The village covers 2,431 mu of mountainous land and 2,400 mu of arable land. The Wu Feng Memorial Hall, dedicated to the God of Alishan from Taiwan, is a cross-strait cultural relic protection unit, attracting many Taiwanese compatriots and tourists who visit out of interest, offering great potential for tourism development. … Husi Village detailed information++
