Jiufeng Chongfu Hall

Jiufeng Chongfu Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Jiufeng Chongfu Hall is located in Fuxing Village, Jiufeng Town, Pinghe County, dating from the Yuan to the Qing dynasties.

Introduction: Also known as Luozhai An, it was initially built in the late Yuan Dynasty, expanded in the fourth year of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty (1371), and underwent multiple renovations during the Qing Dynasty. It faces northwest and southeast, with a construction area of 563 square meters and an overall site area of about 6,300 square meters. The structure consists of a front hall, a courtyard, the main hall, and side corridors. The central bay of the front hall is recessed inward, resembling the design of a ceremonial gate, and features a flush gable roof. The main hall has five bays in width and three in depth, with the central bay supported by a mixed post-and-lintel and through-tenon wooden frame, topped with a single-eave hip-and-gable roof. Inside the hall are preserved two stone steles from the 25th year of the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty (1820) recording the “Renovation of Chongfu Hall,” a stone incense burner with taotie patterns and four animal-shaped feet dated to the third year of the Xianfeng era (1853), and four wooden plaques from the Qing Dynasty.

Protected area: Extends 20 meters outward to the east, south, and north, and 60 meters to the west.

In 2018, Jiufeng Chongfu Hall was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Fuxing Village: Fuxing Village is situated on Provincial Highway 207 in the eastern part of Jiufeng Town, approximately 2 kilometers from the town center. It comprises 23 villager groups, with 986 households and a population of 4,176. There are two primary schools in the village, and the annual village fiscal income is 3,500 yuan. The village Party branch has 4 members, the village committee also has 4 members, and there are 76 Party members in total (including 9 female Party members). The village has 1,980 mu of arable land and over 11,230 mu of mountainous land. The main economic activities of villagers include growing honey pomelo, pig farming, rice cultivation, and working outside the village.
