Former Site of the Communist Party of China Pinghe County Committee

The Former Site of the Communist Party of China Pinghe County Committee is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

The Former Site of the Communist Party of China Pinghe County Committee is located in Jilei Village, Jiufeng Town, Pinghe County, dating back to 1927.

Introduction: Originally built during the Qing Dynasty, it consists of the Ancestral Hall of Jingyi Gong and the Ancestral Hall of Xingquan Gong. In October 1926, Zhu Jilei, a student of the sixth session of the Guangzhou Peasant Movement Institute and a member of the Communist Party of China, returned to Pinghe with the Northern Expeditionary Army as a special envoy of the Peasant Department of the Kuomintang Central Committee to carry out the peasant movement. In November, he established the Shangping Village Peasant Association at the Ancestral Hall of Xingquan Gong, and in the winter of the same year, he founded the first branch of the Communist Party of China in Pinghe County at the Ancestral Hall of Jingyi Gong, serving as the branch secretary. As the former sites of early CPC institutions in Pinghe County, the Ancestral Hall of Jingyi Gong and the Ancestral Hall of Xingquan Gong are physical testimonies to the revolutionary struggles led by the Communist Party of China among the people on the eve of the Agrarian Revolutionary War.

Protected Area: The surrounding walls of the Ancestral Hall of Jingyi Gong extend 60 meters east to the village road, 65 meters south to the village road, 20 meters west to the village road, and north to the southern red line of Xiuxiu County Road.

In 2018, the Former Site of the Communist Party of China Pinghe County Committee was announced by the People's Government of Fujian Province as a ninth batch provincial-level cultural relic protection unit.

Jilei Village: Jilei Village is located in the western part of Jiufeng Town, bordering Dadong Town in Guangdong. It is a revolutionary base village with 442 households and 1,685 residents, comprising six natural villages, 12 villager groups, and 36 Party members. The village has 987 mu of arable land and 15,740 mu of mountainous land. The main economic sources of the villagers are growing honey pomelo, farming rice, and working outside.
