Tongling Huang Clan Ancestral Hall

The Tongling Huang Clan Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The Tongling Huang Clan Ancestral Hall is located in Zhenteng Village, Xiazhai Town, Pinghe County, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

Description: Also known as the "Bangyan Mansion," it was expanded in the 55th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1790). Facing west and situated eastward, it consists of a pond, screen wall, archway-style gate tower, lower hall, upper hall, and one row of wing rooms on each side, covering a construction area of 1,358 square meters. The lower hall has a width of three bays, a depth of three pillars with a front porch, and features a post-and-lintel and Dougong-style beam frame with a flush gable roof; the upper hall has a width of three bays, a depth of three bays and thirteen rafters, also featuring a post-and-lintel and Dougong-style beam frame with a flush gable roof; each row of wing rooms contains three houses, each being an independent small courtyard with a width of three bays.

In 2013, the Tongling Huang Clan Ancestral Hall was designated as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Protected area: An extension of 20 meters around the ancestral hall.

Zhenteng Village: Zhenteng Village in Xiazhai Town is located in the western part of the town, about 5 kilometers from the town center. It borders Huangzhuang Village to the east, Gaoshan Village to the west, Xi’an Village to the south, and Guanfeng Village to the north. The village has 18 villager groups, 535 households, and a population of 2,038. The local economy is primarily based on pomelo cultivation, supplemented by migrant work. In 2012, the total rural economic income was 16,932,000 yuan, with a per capita income of 8,300 yuan. The village has a two-committee team of 7 members, 45 Communist Party members, and has successively been awarded titles such as “Zhangzhou Advanced Greening Unit,” “Zhangzhou Most Beautiful Ecological Village,” “Pinghe County Top Ten Most Beautiful Villages,” and more.
