The Pinghe County Clark Porcelain Research Base was established in July 2008 and is located within Wenfeng Town, Pinghe County. The base uses traditional craftsmanship to produce highly authentic replicas of "Clark Porcelain," integrating the cultural essence of traditional Pinghe blue-and-white porcelain into modern artistic products, thus boosting the industrial development of "Clark Porcelain." The establishment of this base has brought back to life the production techniques of Clark Porcelain, which had been lost for over 400 years and were nearly extinct. In 2009, it was listed as a provincial intangible cultural heritage project, and has since been designated as a demonstration base for the production of ancient ceramic cultural industries, a second batch provincial protection site for the original ecology of Southern Fujian culture—Zhang Kiln, and a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit and intangible cultural heritage training center. Here, you can not only witness the entire process of successfully “reviving” the traditional craft of Clark Porcelain, which had been lost for more than four hundred years, and admire the remarkable skills of veteran artisans, but also try your hand at making imitation Clark Porcelain.
