Shunyu Building

Shunyu Building is a cultural tourism attraction.

The largest circular building in diameter in both Nanjing and Yongding — Shunyu Building — is located in Shiqiao Village, 3 kilometers from the Hekeng Tulou Cluster. With an outer diameter of 74 meters, the building covers a total area of over 4,000 square meters, equivalent to the size of 10 basketball courts. It has a total of 372 rooms — even if you stayed in a different room every day, you wouldn’t be able to live in all of them in a year.

Construction of Shunyu Building began in 1927 under the supervision of its owner, Zhang Qigen, and took 20 years to complete. Currently, 40 households comprising over 250 members of the Zhang family live in the building.

Taxi

Most taxis in Nanjing are independently operated, so it’s necessary to agree on a fare before getting in. Taxis are commonly available at the train station, bus station, and scenic areas. Taxis from the train station tend to be more expensive, so it’s recommended to first take a vehicle to the county town and then take a taxi from there.
