Yonggui Building

Yonggui Building is a cultural tourism attraction.

Yonggui Building is located to the north of Chaoshui Building and was built in the second year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1876). This square-shaped earthen building faces south and covers a site area of 1,680 square meters, with a construction area of 3,852 square meters. It has three stories (10.29 meters high), is 41 meters wide, and 39 meters deep, with 32 rooms on each floor. The interior follows a corridor-style layout. There are four staircases and one main gate. The base wall is 0.7 meters thick, and above the main gate is embedded a square stone plaque engraved with the building’s name and an exact date. Inside the building, there is an ancestral hall built in a “three-bay, one-hall” style, constructed with brick and wood and featuring exquisite decorations. There is also a well located on the right side of the inner courtyard. Currently, seven households with a total of 37 people reside here.

Shuyang Town: Shuyang Town is located in the southwestern part of Nanjing County. Provincial Highway Shanchang runs through the town, making it a key border trade hub at the junction of Nanjing, Pinghe, and Yongding counties, offering a unique geographical advantage. The town covers a land area of 184 square kilometers, governs 21 autonomous villages and one neighborhood committee, with a total population of over 30,000. There are nearly 50,000 overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, making it one of the key hometowns of overseas Chinese in Zhangzhou City.

The town is not only a famous historical and cultural area but also one of the key hubs for earthen building tourism in the county.
