Chaoshui Tower

Chaoshui Tower is a cultural tourism attraction.

Chaoshui Tower is located in the central area of the tulou cluster. Originally built during the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty (1549–1553), it was rebuilt after a fire in 1923. This square-shaped earthen building faces south and covers a site area of 729 square meters, with a total floor area of 1,890 square meters. It has three stories (11.3 meters high), with 20 rooms on each level. The structure features an interior corridor layout. The foundation wall is 1.66 meters thick. There is no stone foundation; only cobblestones over one meter high are embedded around the base of the wall. Currently, eight households with 48 residents live here.

Shuyang Town: Shuyang Town is located in the southwestern part of Nanjing County. Provincial Highway Shanchang runs through the town, making it a key border trade hub at the junction of Nanjing, Pinghe, and Yongding counties. It enjoys a unique geographical advantage. The town covers a land area of 184 square kilometers, governs 21 autonomous villages and one neighborhood committee, with a total population of over 30,000. It has nearly 50,000 overseas Chinese, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, making it one of the key hometowns of overseas Chinese in Zhangzhou City.

The town is not only a famous historical and cultural destination but also one of the key areas in the county where tulou tourist attractions are concentrated.
