Tulou Museum

The Tulou Museum is located in Lücuo, Tianzhong Village, Shuyang Town, Nanjing County. The museum is housed in Longtan Lou, a tulou built during the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty, covering a land area of 676 square meters with a construction area of 2,500 square meters.

The museum consists of 16 exhibition rooms under four major themes: the pioneering history of hard work and perseverance, the architectural classic of harmony between man and nature, the enduring essence of cultural heritage, and the simple and sincere folk customs. It comprehensively showcases the early development of Nanjing, the construction techniques and cultural significance of tulou, the lifestyle and customs of tulou residents, as well as notable historical figures from ancient Nanjing. The exhibits include a variety of precious cultural relics from the Neolithic Age to the Republican period, along with folk items, production tools, and root art pieces. It serves as a window for people to learn about tulou.

Shuyang Town: Located in the southwestern part of Nanjing County, Shuyang Town is traversed by Provincial Highway Shanchang. It is an important border trade town at the junction of Nanjing, Pinghe, and Yongding counties, boasting a unique geographical advantage. The town covers a land area of 184 square kilometers and governs 21 autonomous villages and one neighborhood committee, with a total population of over 30,000. There are nearly 50,000 overseas Chinese, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, making it one of the key hometowns of overseas Chinese in Zhangzhou City.
