Chongde Hall in Nanjing is a cultural heritage site protected by Fujian Province.

Chongde Hall in Nanjing is located in Huang Natural Village, Dacuili Village, Liuan Village, Shancheng Town, Nanjing County, dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Description: Initially built in the 12th year of the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty (1639) and expanded in the 45th year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1780), it has undergone several renovations since. The building faces southeast and is situated northwest, featuring a “同” (same) character-shaped layout, covering a site area of 3,413 square meters and a building area of 1,353 square meters. It consists of a gate tower, inner courtyard, front hall, side corridor rooms, main hall, and rear enclosing wall. In front of the hall is an ancestral shrine courtyard and a crescent-shaped pond. Stone ‘Shigandang’ (stone tablets warding off evil spirits) are erected on the outer walls. The front hall features a post-and-lintel wooden frame structure, while the main hall uses a raised-beam wooden frame with a flush gable roof. The roof ridges still retain decorative ridge ornaments from the Qing Dynasty. Inside the gate tower is preserved a stone stele from the 45th year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1780), titled “Ancestral Shrine Prohibition Stele Inscription.”

Protected area: 10 meters outward from the southeast bank of the pond, 15 meters outward from the rear enclosing wall of the shrine, and 12 meters outward for each of the north and south wing rooms.

In 2018, Chongde Hall in Nanjing was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.
