Former Site of the General Headquarters of the Red Army’s Zhangzhou Campaign

The Former Site of the General Headquarters of the Red Army’s Zhangzhou Campaign is a Fujian Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism destination.

The Former Site of the General Headquarters of the Red Army’s Zhangzhou Campaign is located in Feng’an Village, Futian Town, Nanjing County, dating back to 1932.

Description: From April 16 to 19, 1932, the headquarters of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army’s Eastern Route Army and the command post of the Fourth Red Army, led by Mao Zedong, were stationed here. Mao Zedong lived at this site and directed key battles in the capture of Zhangzhou, including those at Shizi Ridge and Fengshuang Ridge. The site, also known as Xiadianhuo Dacuo, faces east and consists of a front hall, wing rooms, a main hall, and a northern wing, covering an area of 830 square meters. Both the front hall and the main hall have three bays in width and two bays in depth, with load-bearing walls and gabled roofs. Slogans left by the Red Army, such as “Peasants, rise up and carry out land reform!” and “Oppose Zhang Zhen’s forced conscription,” are preserved on the gable walls.

In 2013, the Former Site of the General Headquarters of the Red Army’s Zhangzhou Campaign was designated as part of the eighth batch of Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.
