Former Site Memorial Hall of the Yan-Yong-Jing Military-Political Committee

The Former Site Memorial Hall of the Yan-Yong-Jing Military-Political Committee is a classic red tourism attraction.

To commemorate the great achievements of the older generation of revolutionaries, our county invested over 1.2 million yuan in 2010 to build the Former Site Memorial Hall of the Yan-Yong-Jing Military-Political Committee in Kelin Village. The museum has since become a thematic memorial and educational base for young people to receive patriotic and revolutionary tradition education.

Kelin Village is located in the northwest of Nanjing County, at the center of the border area among Nanjing, Yongding, Longyan, and Zhangping counties. The Yan-Yong-Jing Revolutionary Base, centered on Kelin, was established by older-generation proletarian revolutionaries such as Zhang Dingcheng, Deng Zihui, and Tan Zhenlin. It was an important part of the Western Fujian Soviet Area and also a significant component during the expansion period of the Central Soviet Area. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the Yan-Yong-Jing Revolutionary Base consistently formed an impregnable red barrier at the southeastern front of the Western Fujian Revolutionary Base. It made major contributions to consolidating and developing the Western Fujian Soviet Area, shielding the Long March of the Central Red Army, and achieving victory in China’s New Democratic Revolution, writing a glorious chapter in the history of revolutionary struggle in southwestern Fujian.

In 1930 and 1932, the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army advanced into Kelin, igniting the flames of the Agrarian Revolutionary Movement and carrying out vigorous revolutionary activities such as “organizing peasant associations to fight landlords and establishing political power to distribute land.” After 1934, the Red Eighth Regiment and Red Ninth Regiment, directly under the Central Revolutionary Military Commission, successively moved into Kelin to carry out protracted guerrilla warfare, shielding the Long March of the Central Red Army’s main forces and safeguarding the fruits of the Agrarian Revolutionary victory. In July 1934, the Red Eighth Regiment presided over the founding meeting of the Yan-Yong-Jing Northern Jing District Soviet Government in Kelin. Between August and September 1935, the Yan-Yong-Jing Military-Political Committee was also established, effectively leading the peasant revolutionary movement in the border areas of Nanjing, Yongding, and Longyan, making Red Kelin a reliable stronghold for the southwestern Fujian Party organizations and Red Army guerrilla forces during the three-year guerrilla war.

To commemorate this glorious revolutionary tradition, Nanjing County, after several rounds of enrichment and arrangement, established the “Former Site Memorial Hall of the Yan-Yong-Jing Military-Political Committee,” which officially opened in 2010. In 2014, the exhibition was rearranged. The exhibition hall of the memorial is divided into six sections according to the revolutionary historical process at the time: “The Spark of Revolution Spreads Across Northern Jing,” “The Establishment of the Yan-Yong-Jing Military-Political Committee,” “The Arduous Three-Year Guerrilla War,” “Important Meetings of the Southwest Fujian Military-Political Committee,” “From Here to Victory,” “Martyrs of the Yan-Yong-Jing Revolutionary Base,” and “Leadership Care, the Old Revolutionary Base Moves Forward.” The memorial displays nearly a thousand photos and a large number of revolutionary relics, providing detailed explanations of historical figures and key events from each period, allowing visitors to understand the revolutionary history of the time and the development of the old revolutionary base after liberation.
