Ruoma Chang Site

The Ruoma Chang Site is located 1 kilometer west of Angang, bordering Liubai Zhang Lake to the west. The site rises 0.3–0.4 meters above the ground and measures approximately 300 meters in both length and width. Commonly known as the "Ruoma Chang" (Horse Racing Ground), it is also called "Deng Ai Stockade" due to the legend that it was once a military encampment of Deng Ai during the Three Kingdoms period.

Deng Ai (197–264), courtesy name Shizai, was a renowned general of the Wei state during the Three Kingdoms period. For many years, Deng Ai defended the northwestern front against Jiang Wei of the Shu Han. Later, as one of the principal military commanders in the campaign to conquer Shu, he led his forces through the Yinping route, forcing Shu Han to surrender and achieving a remarkable feat. He was posthumously honored as the Marquis of Huitang by the Wei dynasty, and his son inherited the title. A man of both literary and martial talent, Deng Ai had an in-depth understanding of military strategy and also made notable contributions to domestic governance. Originally named Deng Fan, he later changed his name because it was the same as that of a fellow townsman. For years, Deng Ai guarded the western frontier of Cao Wei against Jiang Wei of Shu Han. In 263 AD, he and Zhong Hui led separate armies in the attack on Shu Han, and Deng Ai was the first to enter Chengdu, leading to the fall of Shu. Later, he fell victim to a conspiracy by Zhong...
