The Zhanjia Terrace Ruins

The Zhanjia Terrace Ruins are located 2 kilometers southeast of Zhonggang and are commonly known as "Zhanjiahuang." According to the *Zhengde Yingzhou Records*, “The Zhanjia Terrace is seventy li south of the prefecture, east of Zhongcun Ridge. In the Jiawu year of the Zhiyuan era of the Yuan Dynasty (1354), bandits from the southern mountains raided villages. The Zhan family gathered righteous locals to protect their homeland, built a terrace to rally the people, and thus it was named.”
