Hefei Hanhai Polar Ocean World

Hefei Hanhai Polar Ocean World is situated at the intersection of Fahua Avenue and Diezhang Road in the Hefei Economic and Technological Development Zone, close to Happy Island, Huizhou Garden, and the International Convention and Exhibition Center. It spans a total area of 32 mu and includes venues such as an aquarium, sea lion theater, tropical rainforest ecological exhibition area, penguin pavilion, and whale pavilion. Hefei Hanhai Polar Ocean World is a flagship tourism project jointly developed by Haiheng Group and Singapore Beijing Underwater World Pte Ltd in the development zone.

The project has a total investment of 150 million yuan, with the first phase receiving 60 million yuan in funding and covering a construction area of over 12,000 square meters. It is a large-scale comprehensive facility integrating tourism, leisure, and marine science education. As the first ocean world project in the province to be established in the Economic and Technological Development Zone, it will form a tourism cluster with nearby attractions such as Huizhou Garden, Mingzhu Square, European Style Street, Children’s Activity Center, Feicui Lake Scenic Area, and Nanyan Lake Scenic Area upon completion.

Hefei Hanhai Polar Ocean World has introduced species such as whales and penguins from Japan, capybaras from Argentina, Amazon lizards (Brazil), sharks, penguins, snapping turtles, and rare birds like macaws. The aquarium will house hundreds of species, totaling more than 6,000 marine fish including sharks. The "crown jewels" of the collection are a false killer whale and a beluga whale from the Pacific region, with a combined "value" exceeding 1 million yuan.
