The Hefei Crossing-the-Yangtze River Campaign Memorial Hall is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a patriotic education base.

The Hefei Crossing-the-Yangtze River Campaign Memorial Hall is located at the southernmost end of Binhu New District, facing the vast Chaohu Lake spanning 800 square kilometers, with a planned land area of 220,000 square meters. Construction began in 2008 and took over three years to complete. The memorial hall had its trial opening on April 24, 2012, coinciding with the 63rd anniversary of the great victory of the Crossing-the-Yangtze River Campaign.

From south to north, the memorial site consists of the Victory Tower shaped like a five-pointed star, the group sculpture of the General Front Committee, and the memorial hall itself. The Victory Tower stands 99 meters tall and, when viewed from above, is designed in the shape of a five-pointed star. It rises on the shores of the misty Chaohu Lake, resembling the mast of a giant battleship, and complements the sail-shaped design of the Crossing-the-Yangtze River Campaign Memorial Hall, symbolizing the unity of the military and civilians and their fearless determination in overcoming the mighty Yangtze River. One side of the Victory Tower serves as a commemorative monument, while the other functions as a lighthouse along the Chaohu lakeshore, guiding ships on their way.

The grand bronze sculpture of the General Front Committee of the Crossing-the-Yangtze River Campaign depicts five members—Tan Zhenlin, Chen Yi, Liu Bocheng, Deng Xiaoping, and Su Yu—from east to west. It portrays the visionary leadership and commanding presence of these five figures as they strategized in Yaogang, Hefei, and directed the monumental effort of leading a million-strong army across the treacherous Yangtze River.

The Crossing-the-Yangtze River Campaign Memorial Hall embodies the themes of water and battleships. Its massive structure resembles two mighty warships sailing side by side across the vast waters, pointing directly toward the Yangtze River to the south. The entire building stretches 107 meters in length (north-south) and 39 meters in width at ground level, with a bow span of 35 meters and an overhang height of 44 meters. The structure is inclined at a 49-degree angle forward, symbolizing the victory of the Crossing-the-Yangtze River Campaign in 1949. The main building of the memorial hall covers a construction area of 17,000 square meters and houses the "Crossing-the-Yangtze River Campaign Exhibition," which comprehensively showcases the world-renowned campaign. Inside, visitors can see the largest indoor artistic group sculpture in China, “The Victorious Army,” a documentary titled “Eight Hundred Soldiers Recall the Crossing” created using cutting-edge technologies such as holographic imaging and blue-screen matting, over a thousand precious revolutionary relics, a diorama depicting the thrilling scenes of the crossing, and a state-of-the-art 4D film—all offering an immersive and authentic experience of the historic campaign.
