Nanshan Martyrs' Cemetery in Chaohu City is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

Nanshan Martyrs' Cemetery in Chaohu City is situated at Wangchenggang, the southern gateway of Chaohu City. It currently has six martyr tombs commemorating 13 martyrs, covering a total area of 260.43 acres. Since its establishment, it has annually received over 30,000 visitors, including primary and secondary school students, university students, party and league members from government agencies and enterprises, members of the public, and military personnel stationed in Chaohu, for patriotic and national defense education activities. It is one of the key patriotic education bases in Chaohu City. Since its founding in 1994, the management office of Nanshan Martyrs' Cemetery has continuously increased investment, completing infrastructure such as the main gate, stepped avenue, memorial platform, and martyrs' monument. The stepped avenue is 580 meters long, the memorial platform is 98 meters long and 27 meters wide, with over 600 meters of cement side paths and 2,200 meters of perimeter walls. The cemetery is planted with lush pines and cypresses, remaining green all year round, with landscaping and beautification covering 90% of the area.

Since its establishment, Nanshan Martyrs' Cemetery has actively collected materials related to patriotic education and employed full-time guides. During the annual Qingming Festival, it provides dedicated services for large-scale commemorative activities by various sectors of society and ensures the proper maintenance of martyr memorial facilities. In May 2011, the citywide Youth Red Classics Recitation Competition commemorating the 92nd anniversary of the May Fourth Movement was held in the cemetery. In June 2011 and March 2012, Chaohu City held events in the cemetery where party members and cadres participated in activities such as "Honoring Revolutionary Martyrs and Reaffirming the Party Oath," which had a positive impact on society. With the ongoing development of the cemetery, a series of regulations tailored to its management needs have been established. The cemetery practices transparent management, strengthens internal operations, and provides thoughtful and warm services to all visitors. As a model public institution, it fosters a positive educational environment and is developing into a modern cemetery that integrates commemoration, education, publicity, and tourism, serving as a center for socialist revolutionary tradition and patriotic education.
