Former Site of Chaohu Puren Hospital

The former site of Chaohu Puren Hospital is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

The former site of Puren Hospital is located within the Scale Factory in Chaohu City, Anhui Province.

Originally built in the 25th year of the Republic of China (1936), it now serves as staff dormitories for the former Chaohu Scale Factory workers. The structure is a single concave-shaped building with an area of approximately 300 square meters, featuring a typical early American Prairie-style villa design. It is well-preserved and was listed as a demolition unit during the Third National Cultural Relics Survey. With the assistance of the Municipal People's Congress and the CPPCC, the Chaohu Cultural Relics Management Office rescued the Puren Hospital. In 2011, it was applied for and added as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit of Chaohu City. It is one of the two remaining church buildings in the urban area and serves as a unique historical and cultural landmark of Chaohu. With its elegant appearance, distinctive style, and relatively intact preservation, it holds considerable heritage value.
