The Former Site of the Soviet Government of Southern Anhui (Clan Ancestral Hall of the Ke Family) is a cultural tourism attraction and a base for patriotic education.

The Former Site of the Soviet Government of Southern Anhui (Clan Ancestral Hall of the Ke Family) was built in the mid-Qing Dynasty. Located in Kecun Township, Yi County, it served as the office of the Soviet Government of Southern Anhui at that time. With a total floor area of 367.5 square meters, it consists of a ceremonial gate, an offering hall, and a rear hall. The entire structure features a rigorous layout and a dignified, classic elegance. The ceremonial gate has double eaves and upturned corners, with wooden railings installed beneath the front eaves, along with an inner gatehouse. A pair of drum-shaped stone blocks stands on either side of the main gate, and there are three courtyards in total, with a square of about 160 square meters in front of the main gate. The front and middle halls are surrounded by exhibits depicting the process by which the CPC Tai Ping County Central Committee led peasants in launching the Kecun Uprising, establishing the Red Soviet Area of Southern Anhui, and the arrival of the anti-Japanese vanguard troops led by Fang Zhimin at the Red Soviet Area of Kecun for rest and to deliver revolutionary situation speeches to the masses. The central hall displays a map of the Kecun Uprising and charts introducing the organizational structures of the Tai Ping County Central Committee and the Soviet Government of Southern Anhui. The rear hall’s main space hangs a large portrait of the martyr Fang Zhimin. About 300 meters opposite the site is a residence where Fang Zhimin once lived and convened meetings with leaders of the Soviet Government of Southern Anhui. The building’s facade still bears the revolutionary slogan left by the Red Army at that time: “It’s an honor to join the Red Army.” Approximately 5,000 meters from the site, the Xuanxi Pagoda still preserves revolutionary slogans written by the Red Army guerrilla forces.
