Another year, another 417 Summit. Each year, the summit is tailor-made by the Quanzhou Municipal Government for footwear and apparel enterprises, infused with Minnan characteristics and keeping pace with the times. Over the years, despite many challenges, the results have been abundant. We are pleased to see that Quanzhou’s overall e-commerce atmosphere has taken shape. The ecosystem is beginning to mature, and numerous traditional enterprises have entered the fast lane of e-commerce along with the summit. A group of large enterprises have comprehensively advanced to deeper levels, stepping into the forefront of e-commerce application. After six years of development, the China Footwear and Apparel Industry E-Commerce Summit has become China’s highest-level annual event in the vertical e-commerce industry sector.

"I believe that riding the wave of 'Internet Plus' and taking action accordingly will make China's economy take off," said Premier Li Keqiang, instantly making "Internet Plus" a hot topic across China's internet. Since the Premier proposed the concept of "Internet Plus" to this day, Baidu searches for related news total approximately 46.6 million entries, with even more webpage searches. It turns out that when it comes to creating trends, neither celebrities nor the media can rival the government—just one term can spark hundreds of interpretations and tens of millions of shares.

The term "Internet Plus" has become wildly popular, although it wasn’t coined by the Premier. Regardless of where it was first introduced, the government’s adoption of "Internet Plus" and its elevation to an important strategic position marks the arrival of a new era for industry-wide upgrading and transformation. Ideas proposed by industries are merely trends, but when proposed by the government, they become drivers of change. Lin Juan, an analyst at Ping An Securities, predicts that "Internet Plus" is expected to become a significant driving force for economic transformation and industrial upgrading. As of now, China’s internet user base has exceeded 649 million, with a penetration rate reaching 47.9%. The internet industry is already profoundly impacting traditional IT markets and traditional industries, and transformations in business models are already underway.

Themed around "'Internet Plus' Reviving Hope for the Traditional Footwear and Apparel Industry," this edition of the summit extends for the first time to an Industrial E-Commerce Conference, aiming to showcase how the new e-commerce landscape, under new commercial and living environments, is transforming traditional industries in manufacturing cities, as well as the corresponding awareness and evolution of individuals and industries. For traditional sectors, their current stage of development has been significantly impacted by the internet industry. Therefore, the attitude of traditional industries toward the internet should be one of "embrace" rather than "resistance." They should actively cultivate and deepen the "+internet" mindset, proactively undergo self-disruption and transformation in thinking patterns and business models, accelerate the degree of internet integration within the industry, achieve deep integration of industry + internet, and break through existing development bottlenecks.
