Meikeng Village: Established in the eighth year of the Dazhong era during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (854), Meikeng Village boasts a history of over a thousand years and is one of the old revolutionary base areas in southern Anhui. The Meixikou Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery, a county-level patriotic education base, is located in this village. Meikeng Village consists of 6 villager groups, with 246 households and a total population of 951. It has 1,279 mu of arable land, including 876 mu of paddy fields, 178 mu of dry land, and 14,442 mu of forested area. The main crops are rice, along with economic crops such as tea leaves and mulberry for silkworms. In 2009, the per capita annual income of the village was around 5,000 yuan.
