Chengzhi Hall

Chengzhi Hall is located in the middle section of the Shangshuitian water channel in Hongcun. Built in the fifth year of the Xianfeng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1855). The entire structure is made of wood, with splendid interior decorations featuring brick, stone, and wood carvings. Covering a total area of approximately 2,100 square meters and a built-up area of over 3,000 square meters, it is a well-preserved large-scale residential building.

Chengzhi Hall was the residence of Wang Dinggui, a wealthy salt merchant in the late Qing Dynasty. The mansion includes nine courtyards, 60 rooms of various sizes, which are arranged around the nine courtyards. There are 136 wooden pillars and 60 large and small doors and windows. The entire residence is divided into an inner courtyard, outer courtyard, front hall, rear hall, east wing, west wing, study hall, fishpond hall, kitchen, and stable. Additional spaces include guard rooms, as well as quarters for male and female servants. The house also has a pond and a well, providing all necessary water without needing to go outside.

Hongcun Village: Hongcun is located in the northeastern part of Yi County, Anhui Province, covering a village area of 19.11 hectares. Established during the Shaoshing era of the Southern Song Dynasty (1131 AD), it has a history of over 800 years. Backed by the Yangzhanling and Leigang mountains, ridges of the Huangshan Mountain range, it sits at a relatively high elevation and is known as the "village in a Chinese painting."

Hongcun is situated at the southwestern foot of Huangshan Mountain and to the north of Yicheng. The village covers an area of 4.1 square kilometers, with 768 acres of cultivated land, 13 villager groups, 437 households, and 1,368 residents.
