The Huaguoshan area spans 10 square kilometers, with a forest coverage rate of over 80%, nestled within a picturesque valley. The natural ecology is pristine, with clear mountains and beautiful waters. A 2-kilometer-long mountain stream, featuring 10 uniquely shaped ancient bridges and pavilions, flows through the village and into Fengyuan River, a tributary of the Xin’an River. The crystal-clear, gently flowing water reveals the riverbed on both sides, where rolling hills and winding paths unfold. Huizhou-style houses, scattered across the mountains and valleys, are layered and well arranged. The hillsides are covered with lush forests of fruit and flowering trees — there are alone over 500 ancient plum trees aged over 300 years, sturdy and vibrant, each with unique forms, some graceful and dancing in the breeze, creating a rare and captivating sight. Also well-maintained are the pavilions, terraces, towers, and pavilions built along ancient Huizhou merchant routes that follow the contours of the mountains and rivers — a visual feast for visitors. In early September, a peculiar rock was discovered at the source of the Fanxi Stream. After preliminary excavation and cleaning, it revealed a massive, flower-like rock formation covering about half an acre and standing 200 meters high. The rock features clear patterns resembling the Bagua (Eight Trigrams), the god of longevity, and turtle motifs. Its texture resembles that of agate or chicken-blood stone. Many curious visitors have bent down to touch its vivid, transparent, multicolored, and uniquely shaped patterns, taking photos to commemorate the experience and marvel at nature’s miraculous artistry. According to preliminary research by Mr. Han Ligang, a researcher from the Provincial Archaeological Research Institute, and experts from the 322 Geological Team, it is preliminarily identified as a granite agate rock, estimated to be 1.05 billion years old.
