Weide Hall

Weide Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

Weide Hall is located in Xiakeng Town, She County, Huangshan City, dating back to 1930.

The splendid late Qing Dynasty residence “Weide Hall” is the most well-preserved of its kind, adorned with intricate brick carvings, wood carvings, and stone carvings that demonstrate exceptional artistry and are a feast for the eyes. At the top of the main gate, there is an openwork carving resembling an unfurled imperial edict, featuring the four dignified running script characters “积厚流光” (Accumulated Virtue Shines Far) in the center, topped with an eight-trigram brick carving. The tops of the stone slabs at the base of the wall are carved with bats and officials; the floor drain in the central courtyard, which allows water to seep through, is a blue stone carving of a fish wagging its head and tail; above the inner room’s door frame is a hundred-children brick carving, vividly crafted and rich in symbolic meaning.

In 2019, Weide Hall was designated as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Anhui Province.

Xiakeng Town: Xiakeng Town is located southeast of the county seat. The town center, Damao New Village, is 30 kilometers from the county seat. It borders Zili Town to the east, is adjacent to Beian Town to the west, connects to Jixi County to the north, and lies next to Changxi Township and Shendu Town to the south. It governs 20 village committees, one directly managed tea and forest farm, and 152 villager groups.
