Wu Chengshi’s Former Residence in Shanyuan Village, Changxi Village, Changxi Township, She County, Huangshan City, was first built in the late Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It is a key cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province. Constructed during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, the residence features a courtyard-style layout with the main gate situated on the right, adorned with a brick-carved gate hood. The entrance corridor leads to a courtyard. The left corridor is fitted with lattice partitions to form side rooms. The column bases around the courtyard are carved from bluestone, and the window frames and column capitals are adorned with wood carvings. A staircase is located behind the central hall, with a back door leading to the kitchen. The upper floor follows the same layout as the lower one, but the rear section is slightly taller. The residence has undergone multiple renovations in recent years and currently remains largely intact. As a typical example of traditional Huizhou architecture, it features a complete structure, rational layout, and elaborately carved windows and doors, making it a rare gem among similar residences and of significant historical value.
