The Zhonglie Temple was built in the 14th year of the Zhiyuan era of the Yuan Dynasty (1354), dedicated to King Wuhu (Wang Hua) and his eighth son (Wang Jun, respectfully called “Lord Eight” by villagers). The temple consists of three sections. The central section enshrines two statues of the deified father-and-son loyal officials, King Wuhu the Great. The square in front of the temple is known as the temple terrace, covering an area of 500 square meters. It is paved with various colored quartz stones and mica stones arranged into rare patterns such as “Crane and Deer Together in Spring,” “Red Phoenix Facing the Sun,” and “Three Consecutive Promotions,” which are unique to Changxi and hold significant value for studying the ancient village construction history and water outlet culture of Huizhou. Directly in front of the temple terrace lies the ancient water outlet of Changxi, formed in the late Yuan Dynasty. Two clear streams from the Outer Pond Ditch and Inner Pond Ditch outside the village flow through the streets and alleys, converge at the temple terrace, and form a graceful S-shaped (also referred to as Bagua-shaped) waterway that flows into the Changyuan River.

Protection Area: North to the ginkgo tree behind the temple, south to the water channel outlet, east and west to 5 meters beyond the temple terrace.

Construction Control Zone: Within 50 meters outside the protection area.
