The Yang Family Hall

The Yang Family Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Huangshan City.

The Yang Family Hall is located on Doushan Street in Huicheng Town, She County, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

The Yang Family Hall, according to legend, was first built by the family’s ancestor, Yang Ning. Yang Ning, a native of She County’s urban area, styled himself Yanmi, became a Jinshi (imperial examination graduate) in the fifth year of the Ming Xuande Emperor’s reign, and successively served as the Jiangxi Provincial Governor and Minister of Rites. It is said that the Yang Family Hall features exquisite wood carvings, but unfortunately, it is privately owned and not open to the public.

The Yang Family Hall has been designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Huangshan City.

Doushan Community: The Doushan Street Community Committee of Huicheng Town is situated in the heart of She County, a nationally renowned historical and cultural city. The area includes a famous ancient residential street rich in cultural heritage, serving as the cradle of Huizhou merchants and the development of Huizhou culture. It is also a window for She County to the outside world and an important attraction within the “Ancient Huizhou City” scenic area. Tourism is the community’s main economic pillar.
