Below these are inscribed the names: “Jiang Yingxiao, awarded the title of Wenlin Lang and appointed as Imperial Censor of Shanxi Circuit; Jiang Bingqian, Jinshi of the Gengxu year and Imperial Censor of Shanxi Circuit.” Both Jiang Yingxiao and Jiang Bingqian were from She County and were enshrined in the Local Worthies’ Temple. This is an archway commemorating the redress of wrongful cases and the restoration of reputation.

Zhishou Chongguang Archway was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit.

Jiang Bingqian (?–1625)

Late Ming official. Styled Zhaoyu, he was from She (present-day She County, Anhui). In the 38th year of the Wanli reign (1610), he passed the imperial examination and was appointed magistrate of Yin County. He was later summoned to serve as an imperial censor due to his integrity and competence. As a member of the Censorate, he spoke his mind frankly. When Shenyang fell, many officials admired the capable general Xiong Tingbi, and Jiang strongly praised Xiong’s achievements in defending the endangered border, which offended the Minister of War Zhang Heming. Later, along with Hui Shiyan and Zhou Chaorui, he submitted memorials criticizing Shen and denouncing the eunuch Liu Chao and Empress Dowager Ke, resulting in his dismissal and four years of exile at home. Upon learning of Wei Zhongxian’s tyrannical rule, he died of anxiety and indignation. In the early Chongzhen reign, his official position was posthumously restored. … More details about Jiang Bingqian ++
