The Wu Family Memorial Archway

The Wu Family Memorial Archway is a cultural relic protection unit of She County.

The Wu Family Memorial Archway is located in Zhongshan Lane, Huicheng Town. It was built in the 11th year of the Yongzheng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1733), featuring two pillars and three stories, with a width of 2.6 meters and a height of 7.25 meters. The entire stone archway is unadorned and simple in style. Unusually for such structures, four recumbent stone lions are placed beneath the four backrest stones. The name plaques are inscribed with the names of 15 successful imperial examination candidates—both juren and jinshi—from the Wu family in the city, spanning the years from the Yongle era of the Ming Dynasty (1403) to the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1795). It is currently well preserved. This archway was erected in honor of the Wu family to celebrate their many accomplished scholars, classifying it as an achievement memorial archway.
