Immortal Valley

　Immortal Valley Forest Park is located in Caijiaqiao Town, just a hundred meters from National Highway 205. It is known for its natural scenery, including secluded valleys, peculiar peaks, pristine forests, as well as rare birds and animals. Legend has it that when Li Bai traveled through southern Anhui in the 12th year of the Tianbao era, he passed through this area and left behind a poem: “Gazing at the pines on the stone cliff, they seem to float in the azure sky. If only I had a rainbow, to span the heavens as a bridge. Should the immortals favor me, they’d raise a hand to beckon.” Hence the name “Immortal Valley.”

The park features 200 hectares of natural shrub forest, 650 hectares of Chinese fir forest, along with over 100 hectares of sweet gum and cypress forests. Within its maze-like mountain valleys and ravines, there are numerous natural attractions such as Muyu Mountain, Immortal Hollow, Dragon Pool Waterfall, Silver Snake Playing with Golden Toad, Horsefly Peak Summit Well, and Mountain-Piercing Rock Cave. The valley also contains several cultural and historical sites, including pagodas, ancient tombs, the ruins of Songliao Nunnery, and the remains of the Dragon King Temple.

In addition to rare tree species such as the tree-uprooting tree and the five-cereal tree, the forest park is also home to nationally protected animals like the elk and the white-tailed pheasant, which visitors can observe.
