Shuimo Tingxi Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Shuimo Tingxi Scenic Area is located 35 kilometers south of Xuanning Highway. A winding mountain road branches off from the highway, making it a relatively secluded destination with fewer visitors. The entire scenic area is a valley, characterized by pristine natural landscapes. Walking paths are accompanied by flowing streams and bamboo forests, with waterfalls appearing along the way. The area also offers recreational facilities such as rafting and paragliding, making it ideal for weekend leisure trips.

The scenic area features a 4.2-kilometer walking route that requires almost no uphill climbing, making it easy even for elderly visitors to enjoy. You can take a sightseeing vehicle to the deepest part of the valley for a one-way fare of 10 yuan, then walk back along the trail, enjoying the beautiful mountain and water scenery. With some luck, you might even spot salamanders in the stream. For those seeking excitement, try the “First Flight over Nanshan,” a zip-line paragliding experience, priced at around 60 yuan. The “First Rafting Trip on Nanshan” (Nanshan Diyi Piao) is available only in summer, with a reference price of 100 yuan.

Local farm stays within the scenic area offer food and lodging, where you can try local specialties such as free-range chicken. However, dining prices tend to be higher. Due to the beautiful surroundings, it’s recommended to stay for two days if time allows—breathe in the fresh morning air and enjoy a cup of “Tingxi Lanxiang” tea brewed with Nanshan spring water in the evening for a truly relaxing experience.
