Kaishan Old Hall is a cultural tourism attraction.

Kaishan Old Hall is located in the Dashu King Scenic Area, east of Lion Rock. Its official temple name is Shizi Zhengzong Chan Temple. It was first built in 1275 during the Yuan Dynasty. The temple was granted its plaque in the seventh year of the Yuan Yanyou era (1320 AD).

History: Buddhism in West Tianmu began during the Yonghe period of the Jin Dynasty (around 350 AD), but at that time, monks entering the mountain mostly built stone chambers and thatched huts, belonging to the pioneering stage. Although the Baozhi Chan Monastery was built in Jiusi Valley and the Mingkong Chan Monastery at the southern foot during the late Tang Dynasty, their scales were still very small.

By the time Shizi Zhengzong Chan Temple was completed, Buddhist activities in Tianmu flourished greatly, giving rise to many eminent monks and attracting thousands of monks.
