Scientific name "Pseudolarix amabilis," a deciduous tree known for its astonishing height and straight trunk. It is mainly distributed at altitudes between 300–1100 meters, with an average tree height of 45.5 meters.

The 15th Pseudolarix amabilis growing in front of the Kaishan Old Hall, measured in 1988, had a diameter at breast height of 106 centimeters and reached a height of 56 meters — the tallest of its species in the world. Ancient ginkgoes, Japanese cryptomerias, and Pseudolarix amabilis are hailed as the “Three Wonders” of Tianmu Mountain’s ancient forest.
