Zhelin Waterfall

The water of Zhelin Waterfall comes from Qianqing Pond, forming the waterfall through two cascading drops. There is a terrace between the two tiers that can accommodate a thousand people, featuring a unique landform.

The upper tier is Longmen Waterfall, where the water spreads out more than 2 meters wide at the outlet; the lower tier is Yansheng Waterfall, where the water forms a defined shape at the outlet. At normal water levels, the upper waterfall resembles a curtain while the lower one resembles a stream, hence earning the reputation of being “like a curtain, like a stream.”

In front of Yansheng Waterfall lies a carp-shaped rock, appearing as if it’s about to leap over the Dragon Gate; Yansheng Waterfall gets its name from Yansheng Pool. The pool beneath Yansheng Waterfall is a stone basin, shaped like a pot bottom due to erosion by the waterfall, with a depth of over 3 meters.

Legend has it that this pool was a place where a charcoal burner named Yansheng often came to bathe. One day during his bath, the charcoal burner mysteriously disappeared. The locals found this strange and thus named the pool Yansheng Pool.
