Hangzhou Qingshan Lake is located in Qingshan Town, Lin’an District, on the western outskirts of Hangzhou. Known as the premier scenic spot of Lin’an and one of the “New Top Ten Scenic Spots” of the area, Qingshan Lake National Forest Park is 38 kilometers from Hangzhou. It is a large artificial lake covering an area of 64.5 square kilometers, with a water surface area of 10 square kilometers. Formed by the accumulation of waters from Tianmu Mountain, Qingshan Lake is like a piece of jade inlaid among lush green hills. The northern part of the lake features 1 million square meters of rare-in-China水上 forest, consisting of a batch of bald cypress trees introduced from the United States in the 1960s. Trees grow in the water, boats glide through the woods, birds sing in the branches, and visitors stroll as if in a painting — that is the joy of touring Qingshan Lake.

Qingshan Lake is a large artificial lake, completed in 1964. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, it enjoys a sound ecological environment. The lake area is home to more than 240 species of wild animals, including Elliot’s pheasant, white storks, black storks, and wild ducks. In the northern part of the lake lies 1 million square meters of rare-in-China水上 forest, which looks like a piece of emerald inlaid in the azure water.

As the main operator of the Qingshan Lake scenic area, Qingshan Lake Cruise General Company is a water tourism enterprise based on the Qingshan Lake Water Recreation Center and Holiday Tours. It operates 27 high-speed motorboats, 10 medium-sized sightseeing cruise ships, large painted pleasure boats, and other comprehensive service facilities. The scenic area also offers grassland barbecues and a counter-terrorism training base, and can currently accommodate over 800 people in group tours and individual travel. The company’s cruise terminals — Shenghe Dock and Qingshan Dock — are located in Nishan Bay, where Qingshan Lake’s scenery is most enchanting, and enjoy convenient transportation.
