Ruijing Stone Flower Cave is located in Pucun Village, Shirui Township, Changhua District, Lin’an City, Zhejiang Province. It lies 120 km east of Hangzhou, 125 km south of Qiandao Lake, 166 km west of Huangshan Mountain, and 51 km north of Tianmu Mountain National Forest Park. The area is surrounded by various renowned Lin’an scenic spots such as Daming Mountain, West Zhejiang Grand Canyon, and Liuxi River, and is situated along the Zhejiang-Anhui "golden" tourism route.

The cave features a vertical structure and is exceptionally tall, ranking as the tallest of its kind in China. Inside, the density and variety of karst formations are remarkable, especially the abundance of “stone flowers.” These flowers are pure white, crystal-clear, and grow in radiant, petal-like patterns, creating an extraordinarily beautiful sight. Due to the cave’s highly developed fissures in the walls, high calcite content, and relatively stable temperature and air pressure, the conditions are perfect for the formation of stone flowers. With over 36,000 individual stone flowers, each uniquely shaped and vibrantly colorful, some areas are covered with expansive blooms reminiscent of a northern winter snowstorm. These countless flowers blanket the cave ceiling, making Ruijing Cave a rare underground garden in the world.

Ruijing Cave formed within Late Cambrian banded dolomitic limestone dating back 500 million years. The cave entrance faces south and is naturally divided into seven chambers. These chambers generally span 35–50 meters in width and 10–57 meters in height, with a total passage length of 460 meters and a vertical drop of 121.6 meters, covering an area of 28,000 square meters. In terms of chamber size, vertical variation, and scenic quality, the cave is truly exceptional among China’s karst caves. Outside, rolling green hills and winding clear waters provide a tranquil, fresh environment. The cave’s stalactites and stalagmites not only display the usual variety and brilliance seen in karst caves but are also distinguished by their grand scale and majestic aura. The clear layering between chambers, along with the long history of stalactite development, results in pristine, jade-white formations.

Each chamber is filled with countless quartz stalactite formations, each more spectacular and lifelike than the last. Experts have praised it, saying: “Ruijing Cave has the grandeur of Qixing Cave, the splendor of Ludi Cave, the wonder of Yaolin Cave, and the serenity of Lingshan Cave—combining the best features of all renowned caves.” It holds not only significant visual appeal but also high value for paleogeological research.

While most caves maintain a cool temperature year-round, Ruijing Stone Flower Cave is unique in that it feels like a cave without winter. The temperature inside remains a constant 18°C, with fresh and circulating air. Moreover, the air inside the cave circulates through the rock formations, making it nearly free of dust and germs—cleaner than the air in most cities or rural areas. The cave’s specific combination of temperature, humidity, and negative ion levels creates a distinctive microclimate.
