The Hexi District Children's Palace serves as a science education base and a patriotic education base.

Established in 1958 with a construction area of over 20,000 square meters, the Hexi District Children's Palace is the only comprehensive extracurricular education institution in the Hexi District education system. It fully implements the Party’s educational guidelines and diligently follows the "Regulations on the Work of Extracurricular Education Institutions for Children and Adolescents." Guided by the educational philosophy of "education-oriented, student-centered participation, individual development, highlighting characteristics, encouraging innovation, striving for excellence, improving services, and nurturing talent," the institution functions to "popularize and enhance skills, cultivate interests, provide experiential practice, and build platforms." It offers a wide range of extracurricular activities for all young people, focusing on moral education, science popularization, arts, physical culture, and labor skills. It has become a model center for extracurricular and social education for youth, and is highly favored by primary and secondary school students. It has been recognized as a National Advanced Unit in Extracurricular Education, a Municipal Advanced Unit in the Education System, a Municipal Advanced Unit in Art Education, a Municipal Science Popularization Education Base, and a Hexi District Patriotic Education Demonstration Base. For 25 consecutive years, it has received an Outstanding Award as an Organizing Unit for the National "Double Have" Thematic Education Campaign. In 1997, it was designated by the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government as a Tianjin Patriotic Education Base.
