Tianjin Youth Activity Center

The Tianjin Youth Activity Center is designated as a patriotic education base.

The Tianjin Youth Activity Center is located in Hexi District and is an important part of the Tianjin Cultural Center. It is also one of the largest comprehensive extracurricular youth education activity venues in China.

In 2009, the Tianjin Youth Activity Center was included in the key construction projects of the Tianjin Cultural Center planning. In June 2012, a Sunshine Park with a construction area of approximately 90,000 square meters — the largest youth education-themed facility in China integrating youth services, learning, recreation, and experiential activities — was completed and opened to the public.

The Tianjin Youth Activity Center has actively taken on the sacred mission of fostering the ideological and moral development of minors. In recent years, relying on the Sunshine Park, various venues within the Comprehensive Education Building, student clubs, and internal media, it has carried out diverse and rich patriotic education activities. On major commemorative days, it organizes thematic public welfare events, screens patriotic films, and stages children’s plays, attracting widespread participation from local youth and achieving positive social impact. Student clubs such as the Tianjin Children’s Art Troupe, Ling Tong Choir, and Tianjin Young Pioneers Table Tennis Team regularly conduct patriotic education activities and engage in social practice, ensuring the continued passing on of revolutionary traditions. In recent years, the Tianjin Youth Activity Center has continuously launched comprehensive cultural performances and large-scale public welfare activities to strengthen the educational function of the patriotic education base. To commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of drama master Cao Yu, it staged the patriotic children’s play *Young Cao Yu* and established the Cao Yu Children’s Drama Club. On the eve of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, it hosted the “Growing Under the Party Flag — Tianjin Children’s Celebration of the 90th Anniversary of the CPC.” During Children’s Day, it organized a “Happy Childhood, Forever Children’s Day” celebration. It has also set up public welfare positions at the Tianjin Library, Museum, Art Gallery, Sunshine Park, and the Comprehensive Education Building of the Activity Center, providing public welfare practice platforms for children across the city. The center has previously hosted events such as the Tianjin Young Pioneers Culture Festival, educating and guiding children to fully prepare for accelerating the building of a beautiful Tianjin and realizing the Chinese Dream.

The Tianjin Youth Activity Center is recognized as an advanced unit in Tianjin’s spiritual civilization construction, an advanced unit in Tianjin’s work concerning the care of the next generation, and a top-tier venue for youth cultural and recreational activities. In 2011, the center was awarded the title of National Advanced Unit in Minors’ Ideological and Moral Development Work by the Central Civilization Committee, becoming a leading force in the field of extracurricular education for minors’ ideological and moral education in Tianjin and across the nation. In 1997, it was designated as a Tianjin Patriotic Education Base by the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.
