Lingfeng Chan Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Known as the "First Sacred Mountain of the Spirit," Lingfeng Chan Temple is located on the rocky hollow of Lingfeng Mountain in Daqi Subdistrict, Beilun District, Ningbo. It lies 20 kilometers west of downtown Ningbo’s old city area, faces the "Land of Buddhism and Sea" Mount Putuo across the sea to the east, and connects with the mountain ranges and forests of Ayuwang Temple to the south. It is a renowned Buddhist sacred site in eastern Zhejiang.

Lingfeng Temple was first built during the Northern and Southern Dynasties (502–519 AD). Before that, the alchemist Ge Hong practiced alchemy here. In the first year of the Zhiping era of the Northern Song Dynasty (1064 AD), it was granted the name “Lingfeng Chan Temple.” Through the Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties, the temple was continuously expanded. At its peak (during the reign of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty), it had over a hundred structures, including the mountain gate, the Heavenly King Hall, the Mahavira Hall, the Great Buddha Hall, the Three Saints Hall, the Monks' Hall, and more than a hundred guest rooms and monks’ quarters. In the 1960s, the temple was almost completely destroyed, though some relics remain. In 1992, the Ningbo municipal government approved the restoration and reopening of “Lingfeng Temple,” which now includes a mountain gate, the Heavenly King Hall, the Mahavira Hall, the Immortal Ge Hall, the Virgin Mary Hall, and the Elixir Well Pavilion.
