Ningguo Temple is located in Xiaomen Village, Baifeng Town, Beilun District. According to the Qianlong-era "Zhenhai County Annals," Ningguo Temple was built in the 13th year of the Chongzhen reign of the Ming Dynasty (1640), originally known as Ningguo Nunnery. In the 8th year of the Republic of China (1919), it was renovated by the then abbot Deshan. It was later renamed Ningguo Temple, with its abbot concurrently serving as the abbot of Ruiyan Temple. During the land reform period, the temple was almost destroyed, with only the main hall remaining, which was later repurposed as an elementary school. In May 1991, it was rebuilt under Abbot Miaozeng. On August 11, 1993, it was designated as a district-level cultural heritage protection site.
