The former residence of Wang Zhongshan is a cultural tourism attraction.

Wang Zhongshan, a capitalist, served as the quartermaster for Duan Qirui’s forces during the Beiyang era.

The former residence of Wang Zhongshan is located at No. 21 Nanjing Road, Hexi District. This house is a German-style garden villa with a construction area of 2,480 square meters. It is a two-story brick-and-wood structure with a half-basement, featuring an approximately rectangular floor plan and surrounded by flowers, plants, and trees in its courtyard. The main facade has a grand entrance with sixteen high steps at the ground level, marble cladding, and a cornered porch supported by double columns. Upon entering the foyer, you reach the main hall, with a living room and study on one side, as well as a dining room, kitchen, and other spaces. Each room features small octagonal bay windows or curved windows that add variety to the facade and form polygonal turrets at the corners. The main hall is divided by wooden and glass partitions, with a grand staircase leading to the second floor through the partition doors. The second floor includes a main hall, bedrooms, and a terrace. The bedrooms are interconnected and have corridors along the windows. The third floor is 0, with exposed wooden beams, serving as a storage area. The building features clay tiles and multiple steeply pitched roofs, showcasing German architectural style. Wang Zhongshan’s garden villa is a unique blend of Chinese and Western styles. The residence is currently used by the Tianjin Coal Construction Company and has been designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Tianjin.
